February 2025 found us travelling to the northern region of the Philippines to meet up with 2 ministry partners in the Isabella region.We assisted in a training conference with our Alliance friends and their Discipleship Essentials program. Our Canadian friends from The Supper Club church in Edmonton gathered a medical missions team in Isabella at the same time as the training session. It's a long journey from central Canada across North America and then across the Pacific! We experienced a strange type of time warp upon our arrival as it was -10 C in Canada and +28C in Manila when we landed 3 Three-wheeled motorcycles are everywhere!
It's a blessing to meet dedicated people who spend their lives translating God's word into dialects who have not had access to the bible in their own language. Here we see a lovely lady who is working hard on a translation project that will bring the Good News to such a group. Her life focus is to complete this project. It's inspiring to see her tell others about this venture.
Through the kindness of a generous sponsor, on Valentines Day the pastors and their wives were treated to a day off! We all went to a lovely resort area where everyone could relax for a few hours. We had a lovely lunch together, took photos, played some light hearted games (with door prizes) and even danced!
In this rare chance to serve others we were given the chance to also relax and fellowship with these pastors.
