Health Care for the people

When we have the blessing of free healthcare, we often forget that for others, it isn't the case.

The medical/dental mission was one of the finest organized missions we have seen.  The healthcare team included dentists, pharmacists, nurses, local pastors and town officials. We set up in a town square.  The carefully planned logistics allowed for personal attention with each family that needed assistance.

Along with medical and dental needs, local pastors were able to have substantial conversations and prayer times with each family that came to the town square.  The pastors were thrilled to be able to make one-to-one connections with local people.  Many prayers for salvation took place that day.

Over 25 individuals had dental procedures completed.  Minor surgeries took place, and many others had necessary medications prescribed

The medical/dental mission included hosting over 100 local children for a day full of fun.  These children were identified by their school as those who had very difficult life circumstances The mission included providing the children with lunch from a very popular restaurant called JolliBee!  Some had never had this type of a lunch before.  They were thrilled and completely ate every last bite

We had the pleasure of spending a Sunday with lay leaders from the Cayan Alliance church.  Later in the day, we were told that David was the first pastor from outside of the Philippines to preach in their church. They did a lovely job of interpreting for us, and we received incredible hospitality from all of them.
